First -"Isn't this site a little "anti-Microsoft"?"
No. If the truth is "anti-Microsoft", that's their problem, not ours. We have reams of backup material to support what we say about them. If the truth seems odd, it's because Microsoft pays PR firms hundreds of millions of dollars a year to promote the public image they want you to see. Their Legal History gives a more accurate picture.
How this Web site was made
This Web site was created entirely under the OS/2 operating system with a plain text editor (OK, Kon isn't that "plain", it recognizes HTML syntax and highlights it). We do have a very good Web page generator (Home Page Publisher for OS/2), but the site would be slower, the source code would be junkier - and I'm a control freak.
Other Tools used are PMView (a graphic viewer/converter (also available for Windows)) and Embelish (a graphic editor (also available for Windows)).
The site's objective is to be fast, clean and simple to use, and to have a lot of useful information. It is not intended to be "Cool". It will continue to grow and expand. We have not yet checked it out for usability by the blind, but we will. It should be easier to navigate than most sites.
We want our site to be browser neutral. We compose pages using Netscape Navigator 2.02, then test with Navigator 4.61, Opera, Web Explorer, and even Internet Explorer. We intent to add Lynx (a non-graphical browser) when we get time. If you have any usability issues, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is, of course, a commercial site, and it's final objective is to encourage businesses to use the services of Automation Access and to purchase our products.
